Re: Fane speaker 125558?
Definitely FANE speakers but not 100% sure of the wattage( probably in the 50-70w range; pwr-handling-wise).
That's a couple of years past the Hylight-era of production but probably decent-sounding speakers .
How do they sound ?

Everyone knows that the HI-TONE DR-F is the Best 1970's HIWATT Fane style speaker available. Everyone knows that we cannot sell the DR-Fs loose. But did you know that you can send us your Genuine Dave Reeves era HIWATT SE4123 or SE4122 and we can load it and rewire it for you? 8) Sweet ! How much f...

Oh, right - I completely forgot about the EL-34 pwr'd 201's .OldSchoolDave wrote:Jumping in here: the original DR201's ran 4 x KT88 power tubes. A later rendition (still a Hylight Hiwatt) ran 6 x EL34 instead.Raw Power wrote:
Are you actually running EL34-s in your DR201 or was that a typo ?

Re: Dr201- 10amp or 5amp mains fuse
Hi everyone First post here, finally bought a vintage hiwatt 201. I bought the amp for an amazing price, due to some unknown issues. I got the amp, the back has a sticker saying the mains fuse should be 5amps but the tech page here says 10amp for 120v mains. I checked he fuse and it was a 5. I turn...

Re: New DR103 Day
Big congrats on your first vintage HIWATT !! 8) I acquired my first 4-input Hiwatt last month; a ' 75 DR201 - it also has the cutdown serial number tag like yours . I had a ' 78 2-input DR103 that I sold in 2006, and had been getting by with an ' 82 Biacrown 50 until last fall when I picked up anoth...

Re: DR201
Another question... is the DR201 actually rated at 200 watts? or less? I'm talking both the KT88 and El34 models. We're in the process of finding that out, and will be measuring some vintage 201s as soon as the Doc has some free time. --mark This info might be of use in the meantime . http://www.ds...
