Hello all, currently using Groove Tube 6550's(sovteks) in my 1977 DR201 6xEl34. im not happy. I use a 70's fender pbass and marshall VBC412 bass cab. can anyone out there suggest what they think would be a good tube for this use. the current tubes sound harsh in the higher frequencies and are not sm...

Guy Barryman from coldplay uses two SE-412's that were recently built from the hiwatt factory in the UK. They are Fane loaded.

anyone have any luck with meas boogie branded EL34 tubes? apparently they are svetlana tubes! in their hiwatts of course.

Yeah I was thinking of throwing EL34's back in it or 6CA7's. I really like those folded hiwatt 4x12's but hard to find. Called hiwatt in UK and they have one loaded with fanes but they want 2000 pounds plus freight. After the currency conversions from Canadian dollars that would be a pretty expensiv...
