I think the 80's Fanes are probably fine, but think the $400 may a bit on the high side. Assuming it is a local sale, I can't imagine there are a lot of people lining up near Chicoutimi, Quebec to buy them ... try 300 and see where you get. I like the fuller tone of the normal channel... but usually I use the bright channel with my LP and the Y cable with my strat/tele, gives nice & addictive mids (kinda "hollow"!!) that I like.
