Re: 70ies HIWATT cab. Metric threads for speaker bolts?

Hi everybody, I have this 70es HIWATT cab that I'm going to stuff in some Fane speakers. The cab is empty and the bolts to attach the speakers are missing. There's just the thread inserts left in the front panel. I wonder if it is metric or if i would have to look for some brit size bolts. Anyone k...

Re: SE2150

...if I played the DR201 through it, it would be at low volumes in my house or something. You may have to re-define your terms here. 'Low volumes', DR201, SE2150..? There's something wrong with that equation. The SE2150 will push out some very respectable volume well before reaching max from a DR20...

Re: SE2150

My first Hiwatt rig ( early '70s...) was a DR203 with 4 'fridges'; 2 x SE2150, and 2 x 2 x 12 with horns, in same-sized cabs. The whole system was a PA rig. It sounded fine with bass or guitar, but was meant for full-range PA. I used it for a few years in England, but left it with a local group when...

Re: DR201

about the Y cable.... I have an amp splitter in a 1950a pedal enclosure and theres one input, 2 outputs. Before I had an amp selector I used it to run two amps... could this work to hook up the DR201 to two four ohm cabs? I doubt it, just trying to think of things I have to use. Good evening, night...

Re: DR203 on parade...

Nice  . I feel sorry for that PA, trying to keep up with HIWATT power ;) . Is the HH cab Fane-loaded? Those dust caps look familiar. Dave No need to feel envious, we're a very modest outfit, but with good gear..! We tried to explain to the sound bloke, but he went ahead and mic'ed up...

DR203 on parade...

Good afternoon, all... Just thought you might like to see our DR203, all ready for our show this evening. Pics taken with 'phone, so not the best quality, but here we go... Neatly perched on our HH 2 x 15 folded horn cab (yes, we're rather 'vintage', I'm afraid..!). Just the right width... DSC00321....

Re: power attenuator for DR 504

Depending on the sound required, of course, but the 'real deal' comes from the combination of pre, amp and cab. There are many software amp emulators which will render an excellent result, but to capture that 'old school' stuff, there are no real alternatives, imho. One traditional way to get 'The S...

Re: Introduce yourself

Good afternoon, Jürgen, and welcome to the forum... Congratulations on having a '77 50w in, apparently, cleaner condition than the new ones we used to see in the shops at the time..! :D Do you have access to a time machine, or did you find the one last surviving New Old Stock DR501..? Has the...

Good afternoon, art... This may help you... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Association_screw_threads ...most equipment of this type used BA at the time. If you come across other radio-type knobs, they may well have the set screws you're wanting, too. You don't have to look only for chicken hea...
