Re: how to check bias

Hi Al. I think most guys will tell you to remove the jumper between pin 8 to the chassis ground and soldier in a 1 ohm resistor. Then you measure the voltage drop across this resistor and this is equal to your current, V/R = I, e.g. 35 mV (voltage drop) / 1 ohm = 35 mA. The advantage of this method ...

Re: List your favorite Hiwatt "Artists"

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. He kind of has a Pete Townshend obsession of his own. Hiwatt -- SG complete with Mod symbol 2001ptsg.jpg Hiwatt -- PT signature #1 Les Paul Deluxe Picture 1.png Pearl Jam is what baited me on the whole Hiwatt thing. After them, I'd probably then say Gilmour, Townshend, Nic...

Re: the Who are the Superbowl half time show

I dunno about that. I thought Pearl Jam nailed "Love Reign O'er Me". Oh right, it was a while ago so I forgot. Well I've said before Pearl Jam are my favorite group so I didn't mean to include them. I was thinking of some of other guys. For the superbowl thing... I just want support a gro...

Re: the Who are the Superbowl half time show

Eh... you guys are tough. I watched a Who tribute a few months ago and they blew off the stage all the newer bands covering them even with the Fender rigs.

Look at it this way, it could have been something like Lady Gaga

Re: I need to re-wire a cab

What wires do I need? Where do I find them? The easy way (soldier-less): http://www.mojotone.com/product-category/Wiring-Harness/4x12-Blk-Wht-Stranded-Wiring-Harness-w-Switchcraft-J11-Jack or the fast way... just run down to your local Home Depot http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5/R-1005607...

Don't discount Seymour Duncan's Vintage Soapbar SP90 either. It doesn't have that "boutique" appeal but it can hold it's own with the best 'em IMO.

You are one connected dude. That guy's store is like "Fender Guitar Heaven." I wish I knew him.

Used 70s DR103 and 412 cab at Dave's

I was eyeballing a few things over at Dave's Guitar shop and I noticed they have a 70's Hiwatt 1/2 stack for sale.

$2195 for both the amp and the cab seems like a good price if everything is on the up and up.

yeah, he's a player. I'll have to check him out next time he comes to the north east. I imagine he's like Clapton... just taking it to the next level live.

keep those shades shut...

http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/local/101909_man_caught_making_coffee_naked_faces_charges I don't mean to SPAM the Standby board but, if this trial sets a precedent we'll all need to be more careful not to upset those trespassers on our property peeking into our windows early in the morning. Be care...
