Don't worry, that's not a 1/2w pot. You can use any.

Re: DR405 filter caps and repairs

wow, man very impressive! one of these days I'd really like to build myself one like that! have you measured the power output yet? I think mine will still creep up a bit further, would love to see 360 clean (120W per pair). I read your build thread a while back but haven't gone over the updates in ...

You can see it all clearly in this picture:

Dave's combo has somewhat different wiring.

Check this.

As you can see from the thermal pictures, V5 is really hot, hotter than the other preamp tubes. But don't worry, it worked good by now, so it will work without problems :D

Re: New JJ 6CA7

Mark, I think you are wrong. Beam tetrodes have the same screen grid (second grid) as pentodes, the difference is between third grid, pentodes have true grid, while beam tetrodes have beam forming plate instead of true grid. No, you should be using 6.3A (six point three amps) for mains :D

And 3A for HT.

Re: 103 blowing main fuse

Hi , I have a problem concerning my 1972 DR 103 , two out of three times it will blow the main fuse when switched on ... the time when it works the amp will stay on all day and is fine if you don't turn it off , but if you do it's a gamble if it blows again (it usually does) The amp is UK voltage a...

Re: DR201 w/ low, distorted output

Something is very wrong with that HT2 voltage. Also, there should be some voltage across 1 ohm resistor. Check if there is a short circuit somewhere (maybe in the output tubes even).

Re: Converting PA-100 to DR-103. Worth it?

Hey Dave, thanks for reply! I'd like to mod it bcos I'm waiting for 2008' Hiwatt CP I bought from Germany, so I think DR type tones would be great additional to my amp line now. Especially bcos it vintage PA and I think mod to DR specs shouldn't be to complicated to perform...at least I hope so. I ...

I just need to say - Svetlana C-logo are the best current production tubes. (not S-logo, they are New Sensor)
