'70s Hylight 4x12 front-loader, black cloth
I found one today at Emerald City Guitars (cool little vintage guitar shop in Seattle). "Only" $1,695 with original Fanes.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to demo it... I may have to go back - you never see HIWATTS around here!

Seems a bit steep. Is it minty fresh? Previously owned by Bill Gates ?mikhailwatt wrote:"Only" $1,695 with original Fanes.
I'd be interested to hear how you compare those speakers to your Thames.

Paul Allen maybe...OldSchoolDave wrote:Seems a bit steep. Is it minty fresh? Previously owned by Bill Gates ?
I wouldn't call it "minty"... but decent shape. Didn't get to look at the back or pull off the grille. From what I could tell the dust caps were the gray screen type. Of course, it was sitting in the same room as a $6K vintage LP and a '68 335... made it seem rather inexpensive in comparison...

Out of curiosity, how much were they asking for the ES?

It's this one: http://emeraldcityguitars.com/68_gibson_es335.htm
I like yours better. .
And here's the cab: http://emeraldcityguitars.com/hiwatt_4x12.htm
Can't tell if it's just the pic, but one of those speakers is not like the others.

Don't think it's the pic. That lower left one definitely looks different (cork gasket, smaller dust cover, etc.). The other 3 look like the black stamped frame Fanes that came in my first front-loader:mikhailwatt wrote:Can't tell if it's just the pic, but one of those speakers is not like the others.
Great sounding speakers! But, that cab is still overpriced .

I stopped by that shop again yesterday. The cab sold (didn't ask how much) and yes, one of the Fanes was a recone.OldSchoolDave wrote:Don't think it's the pic. I have a black grille cloth front loader for sale for $700 if anyone is interested. It has Celestion speakers and is an 8 Ohm cabinet. If any of you guys are interested let me know before it goes on eBay with all their fees.
PS - I also have some Vintage Purples that I am selling, but trying to come up with a fair price for them
