DR105 bias question

Post by Buzzardstein76 »

I have a DR105. I did an easily reversible bias pot mod that uses a 1 Meg linear pot in between the 47K resistor and the ground. Before the mod, i was getting 60 mA for the bias setting. The pot brought it down to 42. The plate voltage is 498 V. I should be getting around 35 or so, i believe. Is having the bias at 42 mA still ok? Any help is appreciated

I did the same thing:

My amp seems to be running fine with 42ma - certainly a heckuva lot better than 60ma!

I got the idea from your post. Thanks for sharing that.
