Legitimate escrow services

Post by ak-47 »

I thought this might be of help to others who enjoy wheeling and dealing online... If you don't know what escrow is or how it works look here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escrow

In theory it is a great way to trade safely through a third party, usually at a small cost. However, after a bit of research I discovered that 9 out of 10 net-based escrow services are pretty much fraudulent

As the languages and legalities can be a bit different from country to country I thought it might be helpful to start a list of known, legit escrow services.

In Sweden I use Payson:

Following on from the post above,

Across Europe (and the world), you can use www.Transpact.com.
Low cost, secure, safe.
Fixed €3.49 fee for transactions in Euros.

I have seen that one too.. a good check point is always whether a financial service is registered as such with the official governing bodies in the country of origin. That way you can check them out for validity..

Perhaps this topic would be more suited in the 'before you post...' thread under announcements?
