Hi there
I have a few questions regarding SE4123 cabs
I understand SE4123 refers to the speaker output and cab revision - which revision is this?
Where they back ported?
I have seen some that have black grills/Marshall style handles rather than the Salt and Pepper grilles and the normal Hiwatt style handles - again is this SE4123 specific or?
I have seen that some are frount mounted - what difference does F vs. R mounted make?
Thanks for any help!

Re: Help school me on SE4123 cabs
SE4123 stands for Speaker Enclosure four 12" drivers version 3
introduced in 1971 featuring four Fane 122231 drivers and "knuckle buster" handles all had rear ports and were rated at 100w. These were meant to be used with a DR504.
initially grill cloth was salt and pepper, but some were painted black at "the factory", many were painted black later in life as black became the fashion.
modern inset handles began in late 1977 or early 1978
Front loaded cabs featured sheer black grille cloth and began in mid 1978.
1978 SE4123 commonly had Fane 125155, but could have 125114 or 125161 drivers
By 1979 Fane 125155 was the standard.
