Bought two vintage Fanes

Post by pet0r »

They are of the -spam- Range, Guitar 100L's, probably from the early eighties. Cost me 50 Euro ($65). They look a bit like Crescendo's.
Does anyone have some more details on these? Anyone use them?

I plan on using them with my Hiwatt DR103 amp. :)

hi pet0r,

no there not crescendos, but they do look a lot like them.
same cone and dust cap. same mag cover. same cast frame except its black. same wattage. normally they are 16ohm but they did make some 8ohm.
they stopped making them in the 70's i think, but other than that and the label being different they look alright.
whether they sound the same or not, who knows? but i bet they sound pretty dam close, closer than any other fane thats not a crescendo i bet!
so other than comparing them direct with some original crescendo A's and for the price u got them for, good score. :)
U CANT BEAT A DR103 THRU AN SE4122 ON FULL TITS! BREAKOUT THE DEFAID!
