Have just had a mate do some work on my SA112, namely installing a bias trim, and literally blowing the cobwebs out of it. One of the mismatched eh svetlanas it came with measured something like 65ma! No wonder it was getting warm.
Installed some low hour RCA 6CA7s that I got at a yard sale, and wow....what a tone. Speaker is goodmans axiom, and I have an SE4123 quad as well. Great grind, and shimmering, three dimensional cleans. Over the moon.

I love NOS 6CA7s in Hiwatts. Killer taut low end and great grind.

My buddy is a Marshall guy...well...he's now shopping for a hiwatt. That huge, girthy sound, and tightness switched him on.
And the RCAs are killer. A I'd found a quad, I sent a set to my buddy for his help on the amp. Loves them in his vintage fifty.
So much tone for a $4.00 gamble on clean looking RCAs in sylvania boxes
