Hiwatt speakers nuts spanner/wrench

Post by lillino »

Do you know what measure are fixing nuts of speakers in vintage Hiwatt cabs? In metric system (millimeter), 8mm spanner is too small, 9mm spanner is too large.
Maybe is there right measure in inchs (imperial system) or specific spanner?
Thank you

They are imperial, 2BA
You may be able to get a spanner on ebay.uk?
Where are you?

Thank you so much :-) i'm from Italy and i don't find it in my country. Do yo know measure of washers and of shakeproof spring washers (with internal teeth)?
And what kind of nuts (brass, brass nichel plated, chrome, zinc or stainless)?

Regards.

It's been awhile, but I believe they take an 11/32" spanner... a nut driver is the way to go.

Or a 2BA socket if you have a 1/4" square drive handle or ratchet

Looks like a 2BA nut is 5/16" across the flats.
I've found what I think is the correct washer, it is 1/2" diameter (12.5mm) with a 3/16" hole (5mm?), 1/16" thick (1.5mm)
I would buy a small ruler in inches too!
