Do you have the high-gain side of the DW7 (6,7,8) connected to the clean channel, as opposed to 1,2,3 as shown in the schematic?

Note that if you are going to be using an AU7, lower value plate resistors (say 47k) might work better.

Ok I will try out those 47K plate resistors, I suppose that should lower the gain a little as well. And verify which half of v1 is getting the ax7 side.
