New to me 1972 DR201

Post by donahue »

I just purchased a '72 DR201. Serial # 2588. I will post pics when I receive it. Has F&T caps replaced, four coupling caps, some bias supply "updates" and an IEC. Looks pretty darn good. It's also not on the registry. I will add it when I receive it.

The kicker is that the Serial is only 8 units from my STA-200 Serial 2597. How about that?! They are practically brothers.

Also my update on the registry for my #2597 was never processed. I will try again.

This new one is a dream amp for me and I'm very excited.

However there is always some irony: This 201 does not have a slave out to power my STA200. Kind of a bummer.

Nice score. :)

I just looked, and #2597 is in there (twice, unfortunately!)

Unfortunately? I don't get it :)

It's not filled out for me. I'm in the US. I feel the registry should be geared more towards the protection (from theft) rather than a record of what's out there. In order to register a Hiwatt you should have a include a photo of your drivers license next to the serial plate or some other identifying marker to prove it's yours imho. Then the registry would have a dual useful purpose.

Just my $.02

Half the time, people don't even provide their email address when sending entries! Good luck getting pictures of ID, etc...
