Correct feet/casters for SE?

Hey, quick question for you guys.

What were the original SE4122/4123 cabs equipped with for feet? I'm having a real hard time finding any photos of the underside of these cabs. Were they rubber feet, casters, wood skids, rubber skids, or nothing at all? I've read all 5 options. I imagine it probably depended on the year/model, but a little info or some photos would be greatly appreciated.

Wood skids, running front-to-back (unlike Orange cabs that ran side-to-side).

Somewhere I have pics and I *think* dimensions have been discussed here in the past.

EDIT: Here ya go! As you can see, this one also has inserts for casters. Dr.HI-TONE would be able to speak to the originality of both.

I read the thread that was something like casters vs. feet vs. bare bottoms (haha). I couldn't make sense of what was original and what was a mod. Are factory casters always threaded so that they can be removed? That would be a nice feature, because I'm sure casters would come in handy for these monsters but if I didn't take it anywhere for a while I'd prefer to leave them off.

Dave's cab is original.

I should have mentioned rubber feet in my email. I think they are an improvement over wood skids.

Were rubber feet not original for any Hiwatt cab? They didn't all come with wood skids, did they?

yes, they all came with wooden skids.

Does anyone know where to find casters that would fit a '71 cab? Either originals or a modern replacement that fit in the caster holes. My '73 has the casters, but the '71 I just bought came without casters (and with the skids removed too). I prefer the sound of the cab on casters to avoid coupling too much to the floor, plus its so much easier to move.

Hello forum!

I am new and just picked up a used 4 x 12 cabinet with no casters. Does anyone know if there are after market casters that fit? They seem pretty hard to find. Thanks for your help! Been using my Hiwatt 100 since I bought one used in 1983

Welcome!

There are so many caster manufacturers and no standard size. It'd probably be easiest just to buy a new set, and replace the sockets in the cabinet. Unless it's a fairly late model, it didn't have casters from the factory, so it's not like keeping the original sockets would be valuable for any reason.

The cabinet is from 1978 (at lest the speakers are dated as such) and it sounds fabulous! Has the black grill cloth which I actually like (not as much as the salt and pepper though). I bought my Hiwatt head used in 1983 so it has taken me almost 40 years to get a matching cabinet lol
