VHC 2008 Awards

Post by OldSchoolDave »

We didn't have any official recognitions at the 2008 Vintage Hiwatt Convention, but I think we should publicly acknowledge a few people:

VHC 2008 Award for most miles traveled over LAND: Mikhailwatt (from Washington State)

VHC 2008 Award for most miles traveled by AIR: buster (all the way from the New Malden UK Factory)

VHC 2008 Award for best host: Dr. Hiwatt - thanks again for your hospitality!

VHC 2008 Award for Fish out of Water: Drummer Keith - for putting up with all those guitar and bass players (especially, Mike B. )

VHC 2008 Special Thanks: Mikhailwatt for the creation of our commemorative T-Shirts!

Feel free to add to the list...

Mikhailwatt, your setup sounded great too. I was engulfed with sound when I stood in front of it! Rush fans are always ok by me. Also, I never realized how good my jr sounded until Mark and Dave rocked out with it

Thanks, Phil - glad you enjoyed it. I'm all about the engulfication.

BTW - Fired up the ol' iWATT today. No problems - sounded great. None of those goofy vibration issues it was having at the Convention.

Go figure!

Just don't bump it or anything! I still think it's a funky solder connection somewhere.

I must agree with Mark. That's about the only thing that really ever went wrong with any of my amps, except a lone filter cap spew/failure. Pretty good track record.

Mikhailwatt, the amp sounded too good to be sick. Enjoy. Great work you did !!

Me too, I'm just glad it is temporarily exhibiting no problems... when I have time to give it a thorough inspection I will.

Hopefully it behaves this weekend... my son's band booked the entire day this Sunday at http://www.robertlangstudios.com/home.html . Just doing the drums and scratch guitar tracks, but still... :)
