It's a small world after all...

Post by OldSchoolDave »

So last night, my wife's employer invites me to the Xcel Energy Center (a.k.a. "The X") for a MN Wild hockey game. They've arranged for a suite (sweet!). I just assumed it was the suite of one of our local newspapers, which they've visited before. When I get in the door, I see the name on the suite is the company that Hiwatt Bob works for! Small world!

But, it gets better. I'm sitting in the suite, sampling the Heineken (just in case - you know, there can be a bad batch once in awhile) when a guy walks in and asks if my wife's boss has made it there. I say, no, he's not here yet. He introduces himself and he's got the same last name as H.B.. I ask what's his relation to H.B. and he says; "He's my son."!

So, I ask him; "Remember two summers ago, when H.B. rode down to Indiana with 'some guy he met on the internet' to meet with a bunch of Hiwatt amp collectors?". He says; "Yeah.". I said; "That was ME!".

You just never know! Kind of a 6 degrees of Hiwatt separation thing.

The only question remaining is: When will it be VintageHiwattConvention night at "The X" ???

That is Cool!
I hope HIWATT Bob can make it down the the '09 Convention! I was just down there, mopping the floor and reminiscing.
It is always good seeing all you guys!

You forgot to mention the "on the roof of the Mighty Terraza" part!

So, do we refer to him as Hiwatt Bob, Jr. now?
You can almost feel the current flowing
You can almost see the circuits blowing
