Hiwatt Custom 100 -80 Hylight

Post by metavoid »

Hello,

I'm proud to say I'm now a member of the growing family of Hiwatts! I picked up a Custom 100 from 1980 today. Hylight Electronics edition with partridge transformers. It sounds great.

One question though.... I can't for the love god move the ohm-selector... What to do?

Thanks,

BOB

Congratulations and welcome!

I have a DR504 from 1980 and it is a great-sounding amp. Yours should have the plug + socket style selector. Is the plug stuck in the socket?

Mike
You can almost feel the current flowing
You can almost see the circuits blowing

Thanks Mike,

It has a 3-way selector. 4, 8 & 16.

I really can't move it at all... :o(

It's not a selector "switch" like modern amps use.

Does this help? http://mhuss.com/Hiwatt/vsel.html

Welcome!

It isn't a switch. It doesn't turn, You simply pull it straight out and push it in with the arrow to the desired impedance or voltage.
