I got it back...... Man what an amp

Post by jtLA-Hiwatt »

Well....I got my 74 custom 100 back this week from being checked out!!!! After sitting up in a dusty store room for all those years It cranked right up :D The transformers were in brand new shape!!! All that was needed were the EL 34's which were missing when I found it! All of the tubes other than the missing EL34's were the original old mullard tubes still in the amp. They also were in great shape....The only thing done was replacement of a couple capacitors and the on off toggle switch was replaced. ( I kept the old ones) This amp has absolutely no buzzing and has the "fattest" sound I have heard...It is truly a beautiful thing. It sounds best with an old tele I have with just a tad of chorus, delay, and Boss blues driver....But then again...it sounds just fine all by itself!!! I cannot believe I was so lucky as to have this handed to me before it was to be thrown in the dumpster....

I am a happy camper
