Anyone know the correct bolt threading for a '70s Hylight chassis? I'm short one bolt and thought I'd ask before going to the hardware store.
Looks like 1/4-20?
Thanks!

That's too big. Could have sworn it was posted here before, but a search comes up empty.xsubs wrote:Looks like 1/4-20?
Until Dr.Hiwatt sets the record straight, I'm going to go out on a limb and say either 10-24 or 10-32 at 1" long. Is there a Dr. in the house?

Re: Chassis bolt threading
10-32 will fit. it isn't perfect, but it is close, the closest you can get in the USA. without ordering from VHR.
Re: Chassis bolt threading
Thanks for the help... I brought an original with me to the hardware store (just in case), and it sure looked like 10-32.
Brought them home and they will thread a bit before binding. Close but they won't go in all the way.
M5x.8 maybe?
Cheers

Re: Chassis bolt threading
The originals weren't metric, but a British Imperial thread that's no longer very common. Dr.Hiwatt has stockpiled some of the real deal, I believe.xsubs wrote: M5x.8 maybe?

I went to every hardware store in my city about a year ago looking for these. Tried out many lookalikes but none worked. I bought a handfull from VHR and they are perfect!
