From Los Angeles Craigslist:
Sound City 120 Amplifier Vintage Head and Hiwatt Speakers – If you are a tone freak, then this is the amp of choice. English made, it delivers 120 Watts and is tube-driven (EL 34/6CA7 tubes). The amp is all original and to many, it surpasses Marshall’s in sound and quality. Dallas Arbiter was the company that started Sound City. HIWATT was formed by Dave Reeves and Harry Joyce (they were the developers of high power amplifiers for Dallas Arbiter/Sound City and went on to run Hiwatt). Dave Reeves designed the Sound City L-120 and started modifying them for The Who, under the name of Hylight Electronics, which became Hiwatt Amplification. This same guy designed the Hiwatt DR-100 that was used by Pete Townsend, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. They all used Sound City amps before they changed over to the Marshall Plexi. Anyone who has ever played through an English tube-powered amp such as this knows the difference between this and solid state. There are some small tears on the cover, and a tear on the left hand side. There is also one knob missing (presence). It was recently serviced and all the EL 34 power tubes are brand new! C’mon and own a piece of rock history.
SMF Tour Series "Heavy-Duty" 4x12 Cabinet - This 4x12 cabinet corresponds to the SMF 1970s Tour Series era. It contains 4x12 Hiwatt Heavy Duty / Fane speakers (as shown in photo) and they really blast. Although it is somewhat heavy, it is a collector’s item and built to last. It is missing two clips from the front grills. These speakers are very rare, desirable and price to go, so it is best to get them while you can. Amp and speakers can be sold separately. Amp $750.00 Speakers and cabinet $600.00 Phone:310 314 2790
