77' DR103 --> S/N: 10111....in damm good shape....i think wasn't open till now.... :lol: for shure...

the baby will cry @ 20 o'clock in the band castle!

thanks guys....the funnny thing is....when i frist saw this forum...dezember 08....when i began with the research of the history related to my soundcity pa 120 my first tube amp...i felt really in love with the hiwatt and the special sound and users....

but last night, when i put this original hiwatt amp on my workbench...AAHAHA...i was so nervous and i sweat a little bit :wink:

after 2 clones i had my hands on a original hiwatt...this was like me first time :mrgreen:

YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT i MEAN?

man, i love this forum and all the guys here! like a small family.....damm, how maudlin, emotional did i sound....cheers guys

...did someone realise the first left tube? ....was a little bit warm, isnt it?

what can that be?

Looks like the screen grid resistor got a little toasty? Those are a common "weak link" and are often replaced with 1K 5 watters for safety/reliability. Your call on whether or not to swap out original components on a pristine Hylight, though.

it looks like a power tube died at some point. I wouldn't do anything unless your bias is Very far off.

I wouldn't mess with such a pristine amp........but that is just me.
