what are the red-brownish resistors in old hiwatts? are they pihers or beyschlags? the yellowish ones look like the ordinary iskras

Of course, it's entirely possible that both brands were used. Also, some Hylights have baby-blue metal films throughout or mixed with carbon films.
Yes, the yellow/tan ones are "ordinary" Iskra carbon films (also AFAIK).

I've got quite a few pihers and iskras lately for my plexis. perhaps there will be some left for hiwatt projects. I'll start to sell if I find any more
