Buster/Doc: Terry Marshall @ HIWATT???

Post by mikhailwatt »

Was perusing this thread at the p/p and noticed speculation about Terry Marshall possibly working for DR. I think they're mistaken, but thought yuse guys might want to comment....

Not to my knowledge, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

One very important thing to keep in mind is that everyone wanted to associate themselves with Dave Reeves. Anyone that met him at a trade show, or was a friend of a friend of their uncle tries to give themselves credibility by creating an association with DR.

I doubt it......

I should add that Marshall was DR's/HIWATTs main rival/competitor. I highly doubt that Reeves would have hired anyone named Marshall!

I am certain the sentiment was quite similar to Nascar fans, being diehard Chevy or Ford guys.

The key (or perhaps better yet, the fuel to the fire) in this instance would be that son/Terry had falling out with dad/Jim.
In my own rebellious son v. dad period I switched from Classical Piano to Rock Guitar, Rams to Raiders and Ford to Porsche, at which time hell froze over ;-)

All this aside, most importantly, of all the British amps of that era, I suspect we see the least potential TM influence in the Hiwatt product line ... yes/no?

definitely the least influence, like none. Buster and I discussed this last week, and he had never heard mention of TM in any HIWATT capacity. IFIRC, he hadn't heard of him at all.
