the best free & super user friendly graphics program on this great planet Earth (IMHO, of course) is available here and will allow you to resize, compress, etc. to your heart's content:
http://www.irfanview.net

p.s. be sure to load both the program and the plug-ins. Takes couple minutes and you'll be intuitively on your way...

that cab was on ebay last week, sketchy seller.
none of the speakers are original.
122209 were made for Hohner.
122206 made for Musique Industri
both were 20,000 gauss cast frame 15 ohm drivers.

122209 were made for Hohner - is that a good thing?
they have the same specs as crescenods so they must be pretty smilar in sound?
the fanes r at least of a date similar to the cab of '70/'71
does any1 no if they sound good?
so if the speaker has higher flux density it can take more bass yes?
so if these r 100w an 20000 f.d. they must be able to take a bit an be bloody loud!

Neither good nor bad, just an observation and evidence they were not original to the Hiwatt cab.
hohohiwatter wrote:they have the same specs as crescenods so they must be pretty smilar in sound?
Could be, but there are so few working examples of Crescendos that it's difficult to say for certain.
hohohiwatter wrote:so if the speaker has higher flux density it can take more bass yes?
Not necessarily. The free air resonance of the cone is a better determination of Bass response. The higher flux density means it can handle more power.

That would be a fairly safe bet.

P.S. I'm a big fan of Irfanview, but it's a bit more hands-on than Microsoft's Photo Resizer gadget, which is why I typically suggest the latter.

the guy that originally listed it on ebay, claimed to have a matching HIWATT amp for sale.
When asked about the amp he claimed it was in similar condition to others on ebay. He wanted offers before he would show a photo of it.
That is Flakey.

well i dont no this fella, but he sed he wants 300 pound for the cab, an i'm thinkin mmmm that might be a bit much, considering condition an no original speakers then!

hiwatt amp..... WHAT U MEAN THIS 1! >

he mentioned he also had a head of the same era so i asked him to send me some pics here they r , not that useful with no interier pics but u get the idea, do u want me to ask him for some more of the inside? i think that'd be a good idea, yes.
i think he doesnt really no what it is worth which is why he is reluctant about it, either he doesnt really want to sell it or he's being lazy or not got the time to bother researching it! he did mention he has seen 1 for a grand on ebay, but i sed to him depends on condition an if any things bin messed with. now u've seen the state of the cab, but u never know!
i'll post more pics if he sends some more.

cool! sure ask him for some "gut shots"

If you are near enough to him to check out the amp and cab in person, the cab may sound very good.........who knows?

Well he's down south an i'm oop north, about a 6/7hr 500mile round trip!
i'm thinkin 300 is to much for the cab an i wood like 1 in great cond with all the original bits an early 70's but if he'll come down in price then maybe? i am intrigued as to what those 100w fanes will sound like compared to the pair of 50ws ive got? + there is a load of crap in that cab an some weried (bird poo?) on the cone of 1 of them!!! which is i guess because of the port at the bottom.
why did they put that in bytheway? was it for sound or pressure dispersal?

Wouldn't matter - they'd get in anyway.

I once bought a pair of JBL Cabaret Series PA cabs. They have circular ports, midway up the baffle. Couldn't figure out the source of the rattling until I removed the woofer, looked inside and found LOTS of dog chow and mouse poos. The little buggers were hauling their doomsday stash through the grill cloth and up the baffle. Where there's a will, there's a way!

If you can get the guy's price down a bit, might be worth a gamble on the cab. Those 20,000 gauss Fanes would sound pretty good in a 2 x 12 cab. The Goodmans isn't a bad speaker, either.
