FS: 1969/1970 Hiwatt DR201 4-input

Post by dustblow »

Hi!

Some of you may know me from VintageAmps forum or FenderForum, so I'm officially here too ;)

I have for sale a 1969/70 Hiwatt DR201, 200W, 4-input, KT88's, four white jack outputs (pararell).
Very clean!
Low serial number, something like 769? (I'll check today and post photos).
This baby sounds awesome and it's in original condition. I'm not totally into Hiwatt or Hiwatt expert (better knowing old Ampegs and Oranges), so you will judge by photos.
Big caps (inside) were changed to black JJ caps (I still have the original ones If wanted, these were coded 1969 year as I remember)
Have aftermarket soft cover for it.

This amp GROWLS for bass. It does not hum, pots do not crackle or smth - mechanically it's like new. I used it with vintage ampeg 810, and it's wondeful. Plenty of volume with some crunch when pushed. We've also tried it with guitar and the old Orange PPC412 - WOW. Tubes are JJ (played for a year) and on the preamp - vintage ones mixed with new production (some old philips, some new EH).

Amplifier is located in Wroclaw, Poland (Europe), quite near German and Czech border. I can deliver it up to 200km from my city, of course when you pay for it (lets say +30 eur).
I know that these are rare and are going for +$3000 / Ł2000 or more in this condition, so propose me a good price (PM or email: boro _AT_ dustblow -Dot- com). I think it can be sent via courier mail (UPS, DHL or something) but you must cover all charges and this can be pricey due to the weight! I will not sell outside Europe. Of course it'll be great to have you here in Wroclaw to collect - always welcome!

I'm going to do some photos and be back in few hours and post here.

Welcome dustblow!

Sounds like a very nice amp. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Is there an economical way to ship to the United States from Poland?

Dave

Dave, he said "I will not sell outside Europe." Pay attention.

DB, would you be willing to ship to England?

I WAS paying attention - I thought that meant he would not LEAVE Europe to sell it (anybody buying that excuse? ;) ).

Actually, since some of my ancestors came from Poland, I should probably fly over there to take a look. Hmmm. Maybe I could inspect Hiwatts in Germany and Russia as well (to complete the homeland pilgrimage)?

Hi.

My girlfirends family will be traveling form UK to Poland in August (an then back in two weeks, to London Ilford), so maybe there's a "free" option. Dave - I've never shipped it to US, but I think it's around 500-above bucks for courier + customs (?) in your country? Photos are here: http://picasaweb.google.com/dustblowboro/hiwatt (I have better quality and some more if someone wants)

Sample:

BTW, I have that metal shielding for preamp tubes (four, original), but these are not pictured. Also I've been told that IEC plug is an "add"?
Dave, your're welcome here in my town!

Excuse my bad English guys.

Grzegorz.

Well... as I am travelling to Boston from Edinburgh on the 22nd.....if it was carefully flight cased and packaged, excess baggage paid for me as I can only have 23Kg, and it can get here to Scotland by the 21st, I'll bring it and then send on from Boston, but only after I get back from Pittsburgh on the 28th June.

I think shipping to Europe will be less than 100 eur, courier (but I will find out today).
Price... lets say about 1500 pounds / 1800 eur / 2300 us dollars will be a VERY fair price for it? Any offers?
It will be great to sell it before Monday (I got a chance to buy vintage Ampeg to that day and need money)

As some of you asked,

* Shipping to Europe: 80 eur (DB Shenker courier, door-to-door, insured up to 100$, I think that insurance for full value will be around 60 eur more.)
* Shipping to US is possible (but costly!): $570 (DB Shenker courier, 2 day express, door-to-door, insured at $3000)
* Shipping to US is possible also via POLAMER (very good company that sends packages for many years, from POLAND to US): $170 (4-5 weeks delivery, insured at $200)

feel free to ask
