Belated NAD 77 dr105

Post by Hamtone »

Thanks to old School Dave and Dr Hiwatt for their immense patience, and assisting me in my first hiwatt. This is a 77 dr105 and is my most favorite piece of gear I have ever had. Right now its a living room fixture, Im single and the dog doesnt seem to mind me sitting on the couch and staring at it or working on my hearing loss  She has some bumps and bruises but nothing serious at all, I will post up some internals maybe this weekend.

Sweet!!!!!

Have you done the Professor Huss De-Fizz mod to that one?

Someday the entire world will find out about those Hi-Tone speakers. Until then, only us privileged few know what a great deal they are.

I love mine so much that I wind up playing my (name not to be mentioned here) heads into it as well!

Yep, I did.

BTW, related to your brightness thread, I did use the 1M resistors for the de-fizz on that amp. Hope that didn't over-darken it for you. If you can't get the brightness where you'd like to be with tubes, maybe those 1M should be switched to 470k...

In an unscientific tube test awhile back, I found a Bugleboy or RFT ECC83 in V1 brightened up the Hiwatt tone stack. The RFT had a bit of a snarl to it, as I recall. Your mileage may vary.

...Hey! I played that song when it was new...
