Thanks Mark. To clarify - even if the filter caps are old and need replacing, they would not likely be the source of the fuses blowing at high volume? I'm sorry and not trying to be obtuse, but I know very little about electronics, and haven't found a local tech that I trust yet, so I would like to at least understand this as best I can myself before agreeing on any kind of repairs by anyone else.

True.

Bad filter caps are most likely to blow a fuse when power (or standby) is switched on, regardless of any musical signal.
