Re: A new larger platform
The base model DR201 SAP with SOZO capacitors and JJ tubes will be $2190.00 with free Fed Ex ground in the USA.
NOS mustard caps are $225.00
NOS Mullard CV4004 is $100.00
NOS Mullard CV4024 is $35.00

We may offer other KT88 choices, but the JJ's are solid, proven and reliable.
These are introductory prices and may change in the future.

Re: A new larger platform
not too bad in my opinion, considering what you're getting.
now, what i'm wanting to know is, WHEN WILL WE SEE THE INTERNAL PICS?!?!?!?!

Soon Cody, Soon.
I have been very busy and building has had to take a back seat to a couple very important personal issues.
I will have a lot more time June 1.

I can't wait to get it finished. to say I have been swamped lately is an understatement.

Re: A new larger platform
I knew if anybody would jump on one immediately it would be Hiwatt Bob .
I've only heard the YouTube clips of this circuit where the Brit guy is playing a Les Paul and he's got the volume near max and the MV backed down.
What is the gain structure like as compared to, let's say .. a 2-input DR013 ? Is there more gain, less, or about the same ?
Or . . is the gain structure more like the "LEAD" spec'd amps of the late 60's before Dave finalized his DR circuit .

Re: A new larger platform
definitely more than a 2 input DR.
slightly more than the "LEAD" circuit.
After blasting through the original, I knew we had to make this beast available.

I'd call it the 'cookies & cream' circuit

Is this voiced like the Normal or Brilliant channel at the input ? I tend to plug into the Brilliant channel most of the time ..
Any chance of offering a Black and silver HI-TONE metal badge as opposed to the Black and white traffolyte material ?

Re: A new larger platform
Sure I still have a few of the early style metal badges.
Well, the SAP is really not like either inputs on a DR. The tone stack has more in common with the old Fender/Marshall tonestack than that of the classic DR HIWATT.

Hmmm ...
So, available preamp gain aside: does the TMB network have the same range as a standard DR circuit ?

Re: A new larger platform
not quite, it is a different beast all together.
Sorry it is hard to describe, as it is so rare, and "kinda like this, but kinda like that, etc..."
you will just have to come out to the convention and try one!
