Well, I don't have my camera with me and it's 1:30am here, so no photos yet, but I just wanted to say I've just finished reverting the preamp section back to stock. That silicone stuff is the bane of my existence. Seriously, the stuff was practically impossible to remove on the turrets. Annoyingly, it also created a barrier for the soldering iron, so I had to make sure I'd completely removed it from the top of the turrets before I could actually do the surgery required. Razorblade didn't do much apart from carve off tiny slivers, so I ended up leaving some bits on.

I also changed back the 150 ohm power supply resistor to a cool black 100 ohm Dale one, purely for "back to stock" purposes. Oh, and the big square white ones look crap too :D
I touched up some of the dubious soldering as well to finish off. I think I'm going to replace those cable-tied caps with a nice 32/32uf can cap before I call it a day. Or night in this case.

I look forward to firing it up. On Sunday. Roll on work...

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP by the way. I can't say how much I appreciate the encouragement.

It sounds absolutely GODLY now. It's also much, much louder than it was with the PPIMV installed.

I'm a happy bunny. :D
