Of course my comments about using too many gadgets are 100% serious. But that's just me.... You guys should hear what I'm telling my new guitarist about all the crap he's using. Actually, I'm thinking of finding a guy who uses nothing more than a guitar (Gibson preferred), an amp, and a wah. Real tone comes from the fingers, after all.... Regardless, imagine the look on someone's face when you tell him "You're canned because you use too much crap to get a sound that's too sterile and lifeless. Learn how to play from the soul. Oh, and you drink all my beer and never buy any yourself."
sometimes you have to just love bass players and the cute little opinions they have.

(this means war--i'm now bringing ALL of my effects to the convention, not just some of them)

don't worry though--i'll buy you some old peculiar.

Bring all your stuff by all means. I'd expect nothing less. I'll drink the Old Peculier, too! :D

Oh, I just like guys who produce their tone largely from within, and then use only an amp, strings...oh, you know the drill. It always sounded so much more real to me. I'm the first one to admit that it's only one opinion, though. :D

exactly. his playing is sterile and lifeless. the floyd could've been so much more if they wouldn't have ever stooped to using those effects.

Buster's footage of the 2007 Convention will be available on the Gallery page in a few days.

As soon as I figure out how to overdub my playing!

Never liked them at all, even way back when. You guys can have them (as you will). I guess I always preferred less "dreamy," less "cerebral" sounds. Do you guys like jazz, too?

Fortunately we don't have to justify our tastes to one another. :D

Have a few more tokes and you'll feel fine. :D

Mike

PS Funny, but going back to the 70s I always wanted to punch Gilmour's lights out. What the heck...I'm sure it would be a good fight. Ta....

Hey, Is there going to be a Hiwatt convention for 2008? I will be on tour, but if it is within 300 miles, I will drive it. Sounds great! Where was it?

If there's any way you can make, by all means be there. We'll have a blast and seeing all those Hiwatts is something you won't forget.
