Is it safe to say I'm jealous yet?

Yep... I'd say so!

Have fun, guys. Sorry I couldn't make it. Hopefully I'll be there next year (I can be there for sure if it's held in June--unless family issues come up again)!

Too bad--I wanted to meet one of my favorite bass players....

I would like to extend a BIG thank you to Dr. Hiwatt for the convention. He puts an unbelievable amount of time, sweat and money into this.

The collection of vintage Hiwatt gear was mind boggling, it was great to meet the people who came, and I had a lot of fun. One of my personal highlights was Glenn Cornick showing me the 'trick" to the Bouree bass solo. 8) He had a seeming endless supply of stories from back in the day, and he still plays a pretty mean bass.

It's really a shame more people can't make it to Indiana.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the good Dr for all the hard work that he puts into pulling this convention off. I had a great time and learned a ton this weekend. The VHC is like going to a museum but they let you TOUCH the stuff!

Old School Dave for showing off all the new Hi-Tone goodies and convincing Dannny that your wonderful collector pieces are meant to be played- Not sit around looking pretty and collecting dust.

Mark for taking time to answer all of my amp building questions and even going so far as to open up his DR-504 Kit and talking tech (at my level) with me.

Thanks to mikhailwatt (aka Michael) for the awesome T-shirts. We missed you this year!

Couple of observations I want to share with everyone:

1. The DR-F Speakers are incredible! Sell your old cabs now and replace them with Hi-Tone units before the secret gets out.
2. The 30 Watt JP Single 12 Combo unit will replace any medium size gig and down amp that you will ever need.
3. 400 Watt Amps are way to much power for guitar (KIDDING YOU ZELLS) But Daaaayyyum!!!!! :P

Every year I leave only to tell myself I wish I had more time to hang out with you guys..........Thanks again for making me feel welcome :!:

Hi Guys,

Looks like everyone had a great time and what a nice shot of DR405's!!! Always wanted a 400 watt bass rig to drive the SVT people crazy!!

Was not able to drive over from moving my parents into their retirement apartment so missed the good times! But the folks are safe and sound and out of there house of 47 years!!! Mark, hope the 1 x 12 combo cabinet worked out for you and you figured out that the extra 2 screws were to go through the back panel into the chassis shelf!!!! Was rushing to get her there in time. Drop me a note on fit and function.

Will start planning again to come next year!!! Maybe my suburban with be up to the trip and bring over my 2150 bass cabinet which should work well with the 400 watt heads!

Regards,

We missed ya, big guy.....but not THAT much ;) . You CAN bring that amp to the Vintage NON-Hiwatt Convention, though :) .

Ditto what everyone said on VHC V. TONS of effort (literally - just ask our aching backs!) went into it. Hope those that attended left with some added knowledge, enthusiasm and/or appreciation.

1,436 miles from shuttle bay door to shuttle bay door. The Mighty Terraza returned safely from another voyage to Hiwatt Valley (whew!).

Thanks again Dr.Hiwatt 8) !!!

Dave

P.S. Will post pics in the next couple of days and I encourage everyone else to do so as well.
