Hello
I noticed that my Presence pot wasnt working properly.
Its a Radiohm branded pot, 220k. I see it has been replaced sometime ago (or swapped... anyway).
The stock layout calls for a 100k pot. Actually, the presence is more like a on-off switch on 9-10, either full (10) or cut (0-9).
Is it the pot, or sounds like something else ?

In my experience, the Hylight Hiwatt Presence control is....shall we say "subtle" in the first 2/3rds of its sweep.
By going to the original 100k pot, you'll likely improve your "On/Off switch" experience to a "noticeable between 2:00 and 5:00" one. Go ahead and replace it - just don't expect a huge change.

ah ok... good to know.
Is there a source for NOS Radiohm pots ?

I'll second the "subtle" remark.
I'd also like to add that, should you have treble anywhere in the late afternoon, "on" is the equivalent of getting stabbed in the ears with pins and needles. It's the very definition of shrill. Sounds great with treble at a decent hour though.

Last question : should I use an AUDIO or LINEAR taper pot ?
