Hate to jynx it, but I'm pretty fired up about the fact that a 1969 HIWATT DR504 is heading my way.

Thanks to Dr.Hiwatt for bringing it to my attention (even though I shouldn't be spending money these days :( ) and to buster for acting as Freight Forwarder (the seller in the U.K. was reluctant to ship across the pond).

Never thought I'd be fortunate enough to own a 3 digit serial numbered, metal badged, Dave Reeves scribbled Hiwatt. Now, I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve.

Keep your fingers crossed for an uneventful trans-Atlantic passage.

Dave

The layout of that thing is interesting for sure. Congrats Dave, do you need to relive yourself of any other Hiwatts with higher numbers to accommodate?

The early units were generally hardwired... Bulgins came later. This one looks to have had an IEC connector (neatly) retrofitted.

Congrats, Dave! Very nice!

this was Pre-Bulgin.

HYLIGHTs had Bulgins from mid 1969-early 1977(give or take a few weeks)

Wow that's probably the cleanest 60s era Hiwatt I've ever seen. Let us know how she compared sound-wise to other Hiwatts.

Gracias, amigos!

My motivation was not to foster jealousy (much ;) ), but to "rescue" this fine piece from falling into the wrong hands  .

It was an offer I could not refuse.

Being situated in an apartment until our house in Minneapolis sells, I probably won't be able to open this baby up any time soon. Unless I go to a rehearsal hall somewhere (or take a trip to Hiwatt Valley)?

Saves me the trouble of rewiring a plug for U.S. power.
