In the next few weeks http://www.vintagehiwattrestorations.com will be providing F&T capacitor kits and various replacement parts for Vintage HIWATTs.

VHR will be the only distributor of the 220uf 350volt cap can in North America.

Kits will be comprised of:

one 32uf+32uf can
one 50uf+50uf can
three 220uf cans
one 100uf axial capacitor.

caps will be available individually as well.

Prices should be inline with current online suppliers with the possibility of discounts available to VHC Forum members.

I have another idea. I wonder if Mark might like to demonstrate (for a price, of course) how to remove the bias modification and make the amp appear "stock" live and in person at this year's upcoming convention? Of course he could use my '73 DR201 as the "demonstration model." Depending on how long this might take to accomplish, this might prove an interesting "seminar" and I can have my amp returned to "stock" appearance at the same time. Again, I'd be happy to pay for the parts and labor/time.

Just an idea for the convention....

Yes, it is me and Old School Dave building the online store that might be functional in the next week.

The grand vision is to be analogous to Metro Amps and Marshal.

We hope to offer everything from the hard to find "cheesehead" screws to DIY kits before the end of the year, but we are starting small.

There are specialty sites for everything nowadays and I think this should be done by genuine Vintage HIWATT Fanatics and not just some guy that sees an opportunity.

I doubt it will make anyone rich, but 10% of any profit is going to what I believe is a special fund. At this point that is about all I can say, but I think it is a good cause.

great news!

After a bit of arm-twisting, the good Doctor has convinced me to join the VHR team. So, from now on, when I recommend VHR it's because I have a vested interest! I'm just glad Clayton is making this available to the world at large; we've been largely ignored by a world awash in Fender and Marshall repro parts.
