It may be authentic. I don't see any obvious non- sequiturs. However I will defer to the eagle eye of Dr. Hiwatt.

the two amps you have links two are not one in the same.
Hylight control panels were notorious for cracking like that if the amp took a tumble.
Both ends were susceptible to cracking with an impact.
I can't make out the date codes on the pots for the MG amp. The ink spots on solder joints appear to be of at least two different shades of red.
If it was a legit WHO amp, (which I am extremely doubtful) it has been cobbled up quite a bit. The fuse indicator lamp is suspect, as is the chewed up bulgin mains jack.
There are more "authentic" (by MG) WHO amps than were originally ever made..............how does that happen????
considering the condition and the seller.........I would apply the "ten foot pole rule"

Well.. it sold quickly so I guess we will soon see if the new owners' curiosity leads them here...
Clayton, I hear what you are saying about the inkspots and crack on the control panel... I just figured it would be strange that there would be two ''Who'' amps with such similar cracks that could still be so cosmetically different... not impossible I guess... but...

Just a thought... the name on the back plate is 'wapperom' if you rearrange the letters it becomes 'power amp'

I do know that the dates on the transformers are two years older than the serial number????
I have seen quite a few older HIWATTs with nearly identical cracks and many with similar cracks at the opposite corner near the input jacks.
there is a saying, there is a sucker born every minute".......without them, the Harrison's would have to make an honest living.
