'74 DR103 ALMOST ORIGINAL!

Not sure where to make this post, so i'll start here

I got myself a '74 DR103 with almost everything original on it. There were bias adjustments added in its early life, and just about 4 or so years ago, it acquired its "Gilmour Mod" combining the Normal & Brill inputs together. It has its original tubes! All New Shield late 70's Mullards for preamp & power tubes.

Unfortunately, something required the original owner to remove the original 500k Bass potentiometer and replace it with a a new smaller CTS potentiometer. Even the dial was modified to fit the new potentiometer :x

So far, this is the only thing that I cannot rest on! I've been searching near and far for a replacement and nothing has come up This is where I ask for my fellow Hiwatt connoisseurs to lend me a hand! I have gotten a new exact replacement dial for the potentiometer. Would anyone know where I can get an original or anything that can get me to get a hold of an original PLW (Plessey) potentiometer?

Here are the specs:

PLW (Plessey) 02000/785 500K M Log
The other potentiometers say that they were made on the 24th week of '74
The housing is 29mm Dia. with a solid shaft.
The washer and nut are missing as well.

If anyone can sacrifice one I will be more than obliged to pay you back handsomely :D . I cannot sleep without this amp back in order! Help!

Great News!
I found the perfect replacement for Potentiometers for the use on Hiwatts; PEC Mil. Spec 2-Watt Solid Shaft Potentiometers Made in Canada. These have stainless steel housing, followed with gold plated terminals.

I've gotten in contact with the company and found out they are the same specifications as the Plessey Mil-Spec 2-Watt Pots found in early to mid 70's Hiwatts. For my DR103's, i'll be replacing all pots with these (I know you hate me!, but these are work-horse amps) and keeping the Mil. Spec up to date. This will allow my amp to work without failure. The old ones are still good, so I might be offering them here if anyone needs an original replacement!

Here's the link to the company, PEC (Precision Electronics Corporation); http://www.precisionelectronics.com/0-40a-010a.html

These will also compliment a kit build as well!

Thanks for the effort, but they are not the perfect replacement.

We have tried them in kits and they don't feel right and some of our customers even claim they don't sound right.

you are better off with Alpha pots.

Don't waste your money on the PEC's
