DR201 output socket mod
The link from the far right socket to the next one has been lifted and it now looks as if they have all been linked.
Over to you guys! (and thanks for your input)

Re: DR201 output socket mod
I think they are trying to make the jacks work without the use of a dummy plug.
below is a messy but properly wired set

Re: DR201 output socket mod
Thanks for that, but what about the resistor that seems to have been added?
I was told that the previous owner had used the amp with 2 1x12 cabs fitted with 75W 8ohm speakers (ATCs) which I also have. The actual speakers measure at slightly less than the 8 ohm.
Each speaker cab only has one socket and the selector on the amp was on 8 ohm.
Is any of this making sense?!

Re: DR201 output socket mod
I suspect the 470 ohm resistor was done as a "safety resistor" to prevent an open circuit if no cable was inserted.

Re: DR201 output socket mod
A friend of mine has Noddy Holder's spare 200 with the same mod. It was done so that the amp could be left powered up on stage, without a load, so that if his main amp (now mine ) blew up for any reason they could plug straight into the spare which was ready to go.mhuss wrote:I suspect the 470 ohm resistor was done as a "safety resistor" to prevent an open circuit if no cable was inserted.
