If you don't have Fanes in your Hiwatt cab, what do you have?

I have a front load black grill SE41230 with square mag emi's in it - going to sell them in favor of some Thames or maybe tonkers.

So far, seems like the Thames are the closest (since Reeves Vintage Purples aren't available outside a cab).

I like my "custom" Thames, they're definitely in the Fane ballpark. A little brighter than my '71 Fane, but they're not really broken in yet, either.

I asked Ted Weber what spec he'd use to get the closest to a vintage Fane.

British 1777 cone w/ special "Fane treatment"
British 4-hole basket - silver
spade terminals
2" voice coil
50 oz. ceramic magnet
50w power
Large screen dome dust cap
No doping

Speaking of Crescendos - Gilmour was on "Live at Abbey Road" on VH1 Classics last night... his mondo pedalboard, a rack of HIWATTs, and 2 x WEM 4x12 cabs. Sounded really nice! 8)

Maybe Ted's buddy Mikhailwatt can convince him to bring some down in June? Ted lives closer to me than almost all you guys.

I was really impressed with Ted's speakers and service when I bought some from him a few years back( for a Fender amp). :D

Well, at last count, I had 4 original Fanes, 13 Weber(12 Scumbacks, the 12H are my favorite) and 4 Celestion G1265. My wish I would'a kept is 4 made in UK greenback reissues. I do plan on loading a DIY Hiwatt cap with the Scummies.
