Question: Can I have a Hiwatt DR103 operate in stereo if

- I have two 4x12 cabinets
- I have one of those Strymon pedals with stereo in/out's

:?:

Here is what I was told:

"If you can route two inputs from your Hiwatt to separate speaker cabinets then all you would really need to do is come left out of theTimeLine into one input of the Hiwatt, and right out of the TimeLine into your other input."

So, I just need to loop the pedals as a linked channel? I have the 4-input DR103.

Man, I had a dream... 2 two 4x12 cabinets with that Lex. Apparently you can do the Leslie in stereo. Must be really cool.

Has anybody tried?

So, they basically told you that IF you have a Stereo amp, their effect will work in Stereo...

Problem is, you can't route two inputs from a Hiwatt into separate cabinets. It's a mono power amp. You'd need at least another power amp and a direct out (or two heads).

I see.

It was tricky for me to know by just looking at the DR103's outputs. Since there are two, it's tempting to assume stereo.

Thank you for the info Dave.

Stereo mixed down to mono? Yes.

Otherwise, as mentioned, you'll need (2) DR103 + (2) (or more) cabinets. I highly recommend this rig.

Even better.... a wet-dry-wet rig. Your back will complain, but your ears will thank you. :)

I have been messing around with just that line up.. Three 100 watt Hylights makes for jumbo jet headroom and a three dimensional spread that will easily slay the dragon

Having said that, a mono Hylight rig with some nice effects is a great pathway to tonal nirvana no matter what.
