yeah really!
it is probably a Valco amp labelled as a Hi-Tone. But I don't know for sure.
I know back in 2007, when I was researching the name, there were no amplifier associations that I could find.
It is a cute little mystery.

That slanted rear control panel and old Thordarson-style PT sure look 'Valco' to me.
