Post by Dr.HI-TONE »

Lead guitarist David Minehan has been playing with The Replacements for the last year.
He uses the HT50 DR , HT30/15 JP and HT4121 DR-F loaded cabs.

catch them this summer for a rocking good time!

What tones?
is that sarcasm?
last year when this was coming together we talked a lot about the different nuances between the JP and DR and he opted for the DR.
When to band decided to tour in 2014 he wanted to expand his rig and try the JP. He loves them both but prefers the JP.

Interesting. So, is he A/B switching between the two for different sounds or running them together all the time?

He runs them both simultaneously and uses the amps natural breakup.
The only dirtier manipulation is stepping on a Pigtronix Fat Drive or Fulltone Fat Boost for some exta solo type drive/sustain.

forgot to add that 90% of the show it's just guitar straight into the amps.

Great news, congrats!

I only got into the Replacements after Don't Tell a Soul came out; shortly afterwards they broke up. I never got to see them live and looking at the website it doesn't appear they are near Philly anytime. I guess it's a bucket list thing for me!

The Replacements played at the Forecastle Festival in Louisville KY. July 20.
They had a guest sitting in with them, poor fella's /13 was being dominated by David Minehan's HI-TONEs.

Perhaps he'll become the latest convert? It'd be cool to see HI-TONE on the next Green Day tour :D .

That's Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day playing with them. Interesting.
