Wanted: Reeves-era DR103 100W Head

Hi there,

Recent convert to the Hiwatt fellowship, looking to pick up a 100W head, preferably pre-biacrown.

I know there are other models, but the Custom 100 has been the one that really tore my face off so I don't see any reason to mess with another model at this time.

Love your message boards, learning a ton here, thanks in advance for your assistance.

Jeff

Thank you Doctor, very helpful info here.

Any leads you might have on this would be helpful -- I have played mostly small American combos over the years so I understand that each of these units are somewhat unique.

Thanks!

IF you can't find an Old one..I would suggest a Hi-Tone.. they are the only Hiwatt Amps endorsed by the Reeves estate because they are built EXACTLY how Dave Reeves would have built them with the best possible Parts. Plus they sound pretty damn Good.

Thanks Baz -- I have been looking into Hi-Tone as well, but only to research at the moment, I will keep you all updated with my amp search!

I am waiting on pics on three genuine Dave Reeves HIWATTs that will be for sale soon.
Two DR103's and one DR201.

Not from Denmark, by any chance? For some reason I see a lot of Hylight-era amps for sale there, including some rather early (1970) ones. Decent prices too.

Hey Shatki,

Thanks for the tip, I am based in the states, but good news is I picked up a nice 78 DR103, but maybe a field trip to Denmark is needed as well :D

they were beat to hell, severely modded, pieces of junk. I think the seller thought they had something good, but they were nothing more than parts donors in my book

Yes, the DR103's I have looked at recently were heavily modded Biacrowns for a lot of $$, some for non-functional units...
