Partridge transformers, cracking the code. Help needed!

Alnico's recent post about the second code on Partridges being a date code, got me wondering. I certainly think he is right, but there is also the "what happened to 1970?" question.

I've gone through all the info on Mark Huss' site and entered it onto a spreadsheet. I've added details from every Partridge I can find including others not used in Hiwatts. Over 350 so far.

Patterns are starting to emerge but I need your help please. Mark's database does not contain info for all the amps listed. If you have a Partidge that is not on Mark's list can you mail or PM it to me please.

I have already run this past Mark and Clayton and they were happy for me to make this request. All the info I get will be passed on to Mark and I will do the same with my list once it is complete. I will also put forward the conclusions here for everyone to hear.

The only info I'm asking for is:

Partidge transformer code (will start TG or TH)
"Date code" (will start G or H)
The amp serial number
Any inspection date on the amp.

If it is not from a Hiwatt, just tell me the make such as Sound City, or if it is just a bare transformer say no amp.

I do not want any personal details or even know where you live.

Hopefully this will also be a tool to help more accurately date amps as well as give an insight into Hiwatt's sourcing of parts.

Lets see if we can crack the code!

correct, there is no H0 to avoid confusion as to HO v. H0.
Several amps built in early 1970 have one transformer with the G9 and one with H1.

Amps serial 1500 to 2100 please take a look and tell us the date codes (and any others if not already listed on Mark's site)

Are we still doing this?

Here are a couple:

DR103, SN 1671 (1971)
PWR: G9302
OUT: H1472

DR504, SN 1247 (1970)
PWR: G9485
OUT: G9484

I am looking at these with a flashlight through the metal grille at the top of the amp, but I think these are the numbers I am seeing.

Although I started this some time ago, it is ongoing and even being able to match a serial to a model helps. So if anyone has an amp that is not on Mark Huss' list, please add it.

Can you check that serial 1671 please. According to Mark H's list that is a DR201 not a DR103.

There were a couple of changes early on with different TG numbers. I am trying to spot when this happened so TG numbers are important too

Hey, Phil - OK, I will see if I can get the TG numbers off the trannies for you.

Here is the number plate of the DR103. I have owned this amp since about 1993.
