Which fanes are these?

I have a Hiwatt cabinet I bought used around 1980......And even when I bought it it appeared to be decades old. I have newer Hiatt cabs but they really don't sound very good compared to this. The only way to describe it is to say it sounds like it has late 60s vox celestions on steroids. I love my old vox celestions...but have to admit these fanes out celestion even the voxes ones. We always used four 4x12 cabs with vox celestions in the studio.....because I could never find another Hiwatt cab that sounded like my old one and I didn't want to blow out the old one by playing it alone.
Does anybody make any remakes that sound like mine. I'm guessing late 60s or early 70s. It is incredibly heavy

Need to see pictures and have as many codes (off cones and speaker frames) as you can find in order to comment with any degree of certainty.

like Dave said, it depends on the fane model of speaker in the old cab.
You are absolutely correct in that modern reissues do not sound anything like those from the 1970's.

The HI-TONE DR-F has that Voxey chime. It is hard to beat for the 1970's HIWATT Fane tone. HI-TONE is also releasing a recreation of the Fane 122231 that was used in SE4123 cabs throughout the 1970's. coming January 2018.

Agreed! I recently lent my HI-TONE 1x12 DR-F cab to an Instructor of mine, who is a very good player. He fell in love with it...but, he did give it back ;) .
