Will a DR504 fit into a JTM45 chassis?

Post by Pewtershmit »

Hi guys been a long time. Has any of you built a DR504 into a chassis the size of a JTM45? After my last build I have a request to build one into as small a chassis/headshell as possible. Thanks

Anything is possible. :) You'd probably need to invent new layouts, though, because I don't know if clones of the real thing would fit in the small chassis. Also, you'd need to be mindful of grounding and signal flow to avoid oscillation.

And tube spacing. And transformer clearances. And...

@Pewtershmit - it may be possible to take some height out of the chassis but, if I'd be very concerned about losing the character if any components were shifted/compacted/changed to fit a smaller format.

Looking at the two models in question, there's no way the original HIWATT Partridge transformers of a DR501 would fit into a Marshall small box case. Even if I wanted them to :? .
