So, today I visited a few GCs to pick up a 1/2 size acoustic for my nephew (found a cool little Yamaha - sounds so good that I want one for myself to play in the car while waiting for the ferry... but I digress.

Anyway, I also wanted to try out one of the the MXR/CAE Bradshaw boost/od pedals (for possible Christmas wish-listing

On the way home I decided to stop and just say hi to the owner of the local music store here in B-town... he didn't have much in the way of clean boost pedals, but I did get to try a Liquid Sound Jekyll & Hyde - wow, that's a great-sounding overdrive! I demoed it into the '103 through a Peavey 4x12 with Sheffields, normal channel dimed, master volume around 2. And oh my! It sounded huge... transparent, didn't mask the guitar or the HIWATT sound, it just sounded like the master was wound all the way up. And it cleaned up nicely with just the guitar volume. Very versatile, many ways to dial it in.
So I think I had epiphany... Now I know what you guys mean when you talk about HIWATTS and their pedal-friendliness.

Anyway, has anyone else tried the Liquid Sound? Any other overdrive/boost pedals that you'd recommend?
