I was just looking at this auction and figured it was being discussed here------ What a Mess !!! At least it seems to still have a Partridge OT----- they drilled right thru the Model/Serial # plate on the back for whatever screwy mod they did----- super nice "original covering", too.
If this one stays cheap enough i'd like to save it--- make a great sounding, but of course not exactly 100% orig Hiwatt out of it.
Does that even look like a real Hiwatt head cab or not? A Heyboer PT seems to be needed along with fixing whatever they did inside. I can use the PT in there for something else.
As if i don't have enough amp projects now---- i'll see how this auction goes..............gldtp99

Please do! It's too painful to look at it, in its present state.

FWIW, I've seen a Hiwatt 4x12 cab wrapped in a similar padded naughahyde. Coincidence?

The only thing missing to complete the look is a faceplate that reads "KUSTOM HIWATT 100".

You former Kustom owners know who you are... :P

To be quite honest, I'd love to find an old Kustom bass rig in one of the really cool "not-seen-too-often" colors!

The bassist for my brother's band has an old "Earth II" head and 2x15 cab, looks a lot like a Kustom, with the tuck-n-roll. Sounds really good - gets a nice growly, crunchy bass tone when it's cranked.

Ahem... VINTAGE HIWATT forum???

The old Earth amps were sort of neat, too.

Before I discovered Hiwatts (<---gratuitous on-topic reference), I had a 3x15 silver sparkle Kustom with head, complete with chrome port rings. That things was a coffin, but it kicked out some bass. Another on the list of "things I wish I hadn't gotten rid of." :(

Although I love my Hiwatt bass set-up (another gratuitous mention of Hiwatt so as not to get in trouble with the forum Nazis! Heil! Heil! Heel!), I'd live to have that Kustom bass amp you mentioned, Mark.
