Hi Guys!

Glad to see you found the place. Hopefully it will help make for better Conventions, and build on the Dave Reeves legacy.

Hi Everyone! I am new to this forum, but I use Hiwatts. I play in an original hard rock band based in NYC, but I am not joining this forum to promote my music. I am a HUGE Hiwatt fan, but not nearly as knowledgeable as many of you. So, let me apologize now if I ask any stupid questions.

I have (2) vintage Hiwatt's. A 4-hole 50w and a 4-hole 100w 103. I won them both on ebay over the past few months. I also won (2) early 70's 4X12's on the bay recently. One of them is the one on the other hiwatt forum in the thread "Trashed Cabinet." I might have just sealed the deal on my third head, which is another 100w DR-103 from the mid 1970's. My manager knows I am a huge hiwatt dork, and he is arranging to get me their new Hi Gain 100w head. Nice to meet all of you, and I look forward to getting to know you more. Best, Chris

Hey Chris - welcome! There are no stupid questions here. As long as they pertain to HIWATT amps, that is ;) .

Like you, I started with a single HIWATT amp (an SA112 combo), but quickly found myself unable to resist acquiring more. I've managed to assemble a pretty nice collection, some of which are pictured here (ignore the Marshall half stack - it whined until I let it into the photo :D ):

Like children (I assume, 'cause I don't have any), each is special in its own way. If I were forced to pare down the collection, I'd try to keep my '73 4 hole DR103, '77 4 hole DR504 and '72 DR201. And I'll give up my original HIWATT Fanes when they pry them from my cold dead fingers  .

Just wanted to give you some insight into what HIWATT addiction can do to an otherwise "normal" person...
